Notes from Quebec & San Diego
I spent the weekend of October 3rd speaking in Montreal, Quebec at the SOLA 2013 conference.
While there, I was overwhelmed by the response of these pastors and church workers to the exposition of God’s word. They embraced eagerly the biblical vision of the primacy of the local church, as the principal organ on earth by which God ‘fills all things’, by which he ministers newness of life in Jesus Christ to a world broken apart.
In Quebec, there are fewer evangelical Christians per capita than anywhere else in the western hemisphere. The church leaders who attended the conference are praying expectantly for large numbers of people to be transformed into the image of Christ for God’s glory. It was an honor to speak to them.
I also had the privilege to speak at a marriage conference for law enforcement officers in San Diego in September. As always, the Lord demonstrated his power to save, rescuing many marriages on the brink of total breakdown, drawing many law enforcement officers and their spouses into unions centered on and empowered by Jesus Christ.
A policeman approached me after the conference and commented, ‘You saved my marriage, and you probably also saved my life.’ I thanked him and said: ‘The Lord is the one who saved you.’ He said, ‘Amen!’
Thank you for your prayers!
